Thomas Kane, CEO of Fusion One Technologies, emphasizes that these attacks are increasingly automated and targeted. Many practices are hit simply because their systems are unpatched or their employees fall for phishing emails.
Preventing ransomware starts with foundational hygiene—multi-factor authentication, encrypted backups, endpoint protection, and staff training. Practices should also prepare for the worst with an incident response plan and tested data recovery protocols.

🚀 Big shoutout to Mike Stanislawski with Henry Schein for coordinating a stellar collaboration! 🎉 Thanks to Mark Morey, one of the best dental equipment repair representatives we've worked with in years, and the amazing team effort with William Powell from Fusion One Technologies, and Andrew Foote with Planmeca USA, Inc., we successfully upgraded our clients Planmeca CBCT and installed the latest Romexis software. 🛠️💻
Teamwork makes the dream work, and this challenging upgrade is a testament to the power of collaboration and experience. We couldn't have done it without you all! 🙌
When I was 35, I climbed Mount Hood in Oregon all by myself in sandals and summited it. On my way back down, the mountain opened and swallowed me. I fell through the glacier into a crev****e 40 feet down. It took me 4 hours to crawl out inch by inch with no harness in complete darkness.
While I was freezing to death, I thought about quitting approximately 10,000 times. (And that’s a lowball estimate.) But despite the extremely cold temperatures, bleak outlook, no cell phone signal, mental and physical fatigue, and Kind Bars overdose, I kept going. I’m that person. Once I say I’ll do something, and or tell you what to expect, it will happen.
Now, I put that perseverance, grit, and die-hard dedication to work each and every day. I don’t have to climb any mountains…but I do have to move them for our customers and team members every day.
