For the Emiratis, wearing traditional clothing is a sign of culture and pride. It has a long history in its religion and culture. Emiratis take great pride in their traditions, hence you will rarely ever see them in the UAE wearing western clothing. Although the clothing over the whole Arabian peninsula is similar, there are a few little variations. Some are plain to see, while others require a skilled eye to notice. Modesty is emphasized in Emirati clothes. The majority of Kandora are white, while there are also brown, beige, grey, and other varieties.
